FAQs for Students

1. How can I register for my one-on-one session? My school is paying 

Step 1 : Go to https://www.projectolas.com/student-registration, fill out the registration form and choose your Class ID from the dropdown menu. Class ID  “Professor last name-Your class name-Your school name-Semester”. 

 

Step 2: Download WhatsApp for free here and be on the lookout for your Olas mom(s) to contact you! 

 

We will pair you with an Olas mom, who will create a WhatsApp conversation for you where you can introduce yourself to her and schedule your sessions.


2. How can I register for my one-on-one session? I’ll pay.

Step 1 : Go to https://www.projectolas.com/student-registration, fill out the registration form and choose your Class ID from the dropdown menu. Class ID  “Professor last name-Your class name-Your school name-Semester”. 

 

Step 2: Select your type of plan and complete the payment.  If you don’t already have an Olas account you will be prompted to create one with this step. 

 

Step 3: Download WhatsApp for free here and be on the lookout for your Olas mom(s) to contact you! 

 

We will pair you with an Olas mom, who will create a WhatsApp conversation for you where you can introduce yourself to her and schedule your sessions.


3. What is my Class ID?

​

A Class ID is a unique identifier for your class. It looks like this: “Professor last name-Your class name-Your school name-Semester”. You need to have this ID to register for your class.

4. What is the cancelation/change session policy? 

​

In the spirit of offering sustainable and reliable work for Olas moms, Project Olas allows cancellation/rescheduling within 24 hours of a planned session. Cancellations/rescheduling after that time will be charged in order for Olas moms to be compensated fairly for their time.

5. Can I get a refund?

​

Refunds are only allowed during the first week or two weeks of class or up to two weeks before the session starts. Once the sessions have started, refunds are not allowed.

6. What happens if I miss my session? 

​

In the spirit of offering sustainable and reliable work for Olas moms, no-shows will be treated as a session taken with no refunds made.

 

If you have an emergency and can’t make it to your session please contact your Olas Mom as soon as possible.

7. How does WhatsApp work?

 

Download WhatsApp for free here: https://www.whatsapp.com/download/?lang=en 

 

WhatsApp supports sending and receiving a variety of media: text, photos, videos, documents, and location, as well as voice and video calls. WhatsApp uses your phone's Internet connection to send messages so you can avoid SMS fees.

 

8. How does WhatsApp work?

 

Once your chat is created, you can share with your Olas Mom (s) what temas you want to cover, or you can also access our bank of temas upon request. Please contact team@projectolas.com to set this up.

 

9. Where can I find the link to join my 1:1 session in Zoom?

 

The link can be found on the calendar. You can always ask your Olas Mom to resend the link.

 

10. Can I continue with private sessions after the school assignment finishes?

 

Sure! We’re so happy you would like to keep improving your Spanish skills with Project Olas. Please select the plan you wish to purchase, complete payment and we can pair you again with your Olas mom.
